I made this painting during the Third Ward Plein Air Painting Competition. I chose this spot because I was looking for a place with shade, and I’m a sucker for old buildings. Sometimes I get lost in the enormity of the weight of history. I also especially liked the way the trees framed the architecture. There’s an informative article with historic photos here: http://urbanmilwaukee.com/2012/07/09/milwaukee-squares-catalano-square/
